What You need to do If Your 2000 - 2001 Dodge Ram will Not Start

March 11, 2014

If you're having a problem with you're 2000 or 2001 Dodge Ram, the vehicle just will not crank over, you more then likely have a blown starter relay circuit fuse.

This is a conman problem with the 2000 and 2001 Dodge Rams. You will find all the information in the fuse panel located on drivers side of engine compartment. Once you have located  the fuse panel, remove the cover and look for the starter circuit fuse.

Solution for this Problem:

Check starter relay circuit fuse "D" on Dodge Rams Diesels located in the (PDC) Power Distribution Center, or refer to your owners manual for more information.  For other Rams or Vans check fuse #17 located in the fuse block.

If the fuse is blown, inspect the starter relay circuit for electrical shorts to ground. If there are no shorts found refer to Chrysler/Dodge TSB #08-01-00 Rev. "A" to install a starter solenoid jumper relay/harness assembly and a new fuse.
